Im actually hoping they bring new tactics as there really is little that one can do to a bunch of cloaked ships like this, hence the flag waving of the "nerf cloaks" bandwagon. Until ccp actually balance this game mechanic the advantage will always resoundly be towards BE's tactics. This is not to say that we dont have options d) e) or f) to counter it, merely that I acknowledge the situation and am aware of its implications. I expect BE to only engage when they are likely to overwhelm, to gank haulers and lone ratters, to have login/log out tactics incorperated in their standard ROE. But dont for a minute think that katet will simply roll over and take one from what is quite clearing a hissy fit from a bunch of arrogant whelps. Its one thing for a player to begrudge another in this game- pretty damn common infact (id say most of the wars and conflicts we witness have more to do with clashes from personalities from previous alliances than with actual logical politics). It is quite another to threaten entire corps over the issue, including many innocent or at least completely irrelevant bystanders in a personal issue like this. Ka-tet has maintained the soveriegnty and protection of the 6H region since it was "opened up". We have withstood incursions like this before and fought numourous wars against better foes than BE. Just because we dont trumpet the fanfare of the COAD forum, dont take us for carebears mate. If BE attempt to involve Katet, our residents or our friends/allies in a petty grudge match than my comrades have every right to say "sweet, bring it!". This isnt arrogance, nor is it epeen waving. Its us saying "Dont come into our home, ** on our doorstep and mess with our friends. If you do, we will not rest until we tear you a new ass hole." I think its pretty justified. I am surprised this has gotten so much attention tho tbh. What is it about BIG or BE that makes this so news worthy? So just to remind you those little day dream fights you have in your head do not count. ya....you've yet to fight us as our current incarnation...but when SA split there became Roadkill, COL went to eventually form AAA and the rest pretty much went to RAM...so we have plenty experiece chasing stabbed ravens up and down the catch pipe and around empire some We do not doubt their abilities at ze gank and small gang warfare....but its something we enjoy equally so what you are saying is that you will bring small gangs out to fight them???? if so i must bookmark this post does anyone else see an inherent contridiction in someone on the one hand glorifying underhanded tactics used by ones allies and at the same time dissing the opposition by assuming that they will blunder into fights and not use their strengths to their advantage? Im thinking we will be seeing alot of cloaking, hit and runs and only engaging targets of opportunity from both sides tbfh. If you applaud the tactic of sitting cloaked in a faction fitted ship until the opportunity to gank a hauler comes along, you have to be willing to accept an opposition will use tactics which nullify it- one of which is definately using superior numbers. Im not saying ka-tet is going to simply blob to survive but if it comes to it im sure we will use numbers when needed. At what point has either side even suggested a gentleman's war.
